Our sixth
graders have been learning to see and draw
accurately! We have been focusing on line drawings.
We studied weeds and did ink drawings. Next we
moved on to insects. The focus was on the main body
shapes, and again on the linear lines of the legs
and antenna. After our practice drawings we did
"scratchboard" pieces. This is a media by which the
black ink is scratched away from the board to
reveal the white areas underneath. Next we will be
studying about 3 dimensional forms and shading.
